Old Fire Station Triptychs

In 2015 I was commissioned by Carlisle City Council to produce a series of paintings for their then flagship music and arts venue, The Old Fire Sation. The project brief was deceptively simple; bring the city of Carlisle into the Old Fire station. My response was a literal one and I produced two triptychs, to hang from opposite sides of the 'Engine Room' in front of the main stage. One triptych describes a panoramic view of the city from the Civic Centre to Carlisle Cathedral, the second being a panorama viewed from the top of Carlisle Cathedral looking back across the city to the Civic Centre.
